Kinase
Kinases are enzymes that carry out phosphorylation reactions (a post-translational modification of proteins). They transfer the gamma phosphate of ATP onto hydroxyl groups of diverse molecules (lipids, sugars, amino acids) and this is reversed by the corresponding phosphatases [1]. When this proccess fails (aberrant phosphorylation), is associated with a variety of disorders [1]. Was targeted as treatment for various types cancers [1].
